Personal information is therefore, any information or data which may be used to identify a person.
Capital land collects personal information directly from you when you correspond with us; submit enquiries; or submit applications with your personal information in order to enter into a business relationship with ourselves. We further obtain information about you from third parties for our legitimate business purposes and to comply with our legal obligations. The type of information we collect is dependent upon the reason for your enquiry and/ or the purpose of your application.
We collect only that information which is essential and necessary in accordance with the conditions for lawful processing, including, but not limited to:

Capital Land shall disclose the information of its data subjects to third parties only insofar as is necessary for the proper performance of its contractual obligations or where legally mandated to do so. In the course of our business, we are obliged to share certain of your personal information with some of our suppliers/ service providers who we have agreements with to keep your personal information secure and confidential.
Capital Land will not sell or share your personal information for reasons unrelated to its business relationship with you.
Capital Land has reasonable and appropriate security measures in place to protect the integrity and safety of the personal information in our possession. Should there be a breach in our security protocol, we undertake to inform the affected persons as soon as reasonably possible after becoming aware of the breach event.
The personal information held and maintained by Capital Land will be available upon request to all data subjects to whom the information pertains. Data subjects shall have access to their personal information in order that they may update, request corrections or request destruction of their information held by Capital Land.
Although you are within your rights to request destruction/ deletion of your personal information from our records, please note that we are required to keep your personal information in terms of legislation or if it has been deidentified.
We keep and maintain your personal information for as long as our business relationship, and our legal obligations stemming therefrom, persists and for seven (7) years after the termination of the relationship in compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 38 of 2001, as amended.
